Welcome to the Leader in Ministry blog! If you are here, you are probably interested in resources to take your ministry to the next level. But if you are looking for a quick fix, you are in the wrong place.
Sure, there are things like a weekly checklist and a project planning kit that will make you feel better in the short term, but if you want long term effective growth in your ministry, it starts with you, the leader.
Most websites out there tend to give resources to pastors. While I’m a huge proponent of pastors and I am one myself, I think the world needs more non-pastoral leaders to step up and get better for the sake of their ministries, their churches and ultimately God’s Kingdom.
So if you are a leader looking to take the next step, this site is for you.
I would start the journey by joining the VIP email list. It’s a place where you will get more intentional investment and you’ll get a chance to interact and ask questions of me.
Who is JC?
Who is me, you might be wondering. My name is JC Thompson, I’m a 30 years old, I’m married to my wife Kristen and we currently have 1 little one named Cannon (yes, he’s named after a weapon) and we’re foster parents. I’m the Family Pastor at Brookwood Church in Simpsonville, SC where we see over 1,000 kids and students on the weekends. I’ve been working Full Time in ministry for over 8 years and I have a passion for helping leaders take steps to improve their ministries and their lives.
I went to the University of Memphis where I majored in Marketing Management and spent all of my time in college working for a shipping company that sports Brown everywhere!
- I’m a blogger for Orange, a company that “Engages churches and families to influence the faith and character of the next generation.”
- I’ve taught breakout sessions for the 456 Conference and the Orange Conference on Preteen Ministry.
- I’ve worked in Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, and am probably best known for the time I spent in Preteen Ministry.
I am passionate about helping leaders improve their productivity, their leadership of people, and creating time to work on the processes that lead to growth in their ministry.
I’m glad you’re here and I hope that you enjoy taking the time to get to know me as we journey together as leaders in ministry.
